It’s not frequently that you get to work with an amazing team of models, stylists, and hair and make up. I was lucky to have the trifecta of awesomeness for my shoot on Treasure Island in San Francisco.
Kaitlyn and James were our models and they showed us their skateboarding skills. Kaitlyn had never been on a skateboard before but picked up how to ride quickly and was zooming all over the streets. James jumped on and off the board showing us how high up he could get. Stephen Candelino was the stylist and boy oh boy can this man style. The clothing he brought was like a dream from the 80s and 90s. A good dream. A very very good dream. I’m quite fond of both of those eras as they represented my youth and some of the best days I was a youngster. One of my favourite outfits James wore was a florescent pink pull over and white pants. James said he felt like Zach Morris in the outfit. I would have to agree. Katilyn wore so many great outfits it’s hard to choose a favourite. But, if I really did pick a fave it would be her high waisted jean cut off shorts, teal tank, grey vans, and skater ball cap. She was fab. Tacha Scott Santana owner of Dream Girl Make Up Institute was our hair and make up artist and kept Kaitlyn’s hair in place on the super windy island.
This shoot was pretty darn great. I love getting to work during the golden hour and chasing the sun all over the island. I had scouted the island the week before and narrowed down some spots that I thought would look great for shooting. The day of proved to be a little challenging as some of the locations had cars and other things in place that weren’t there before. The people on the island were so nice. They noticed were were doing a shoot and moved their cars so that we could take some photos and even invited us to use their restrooms if we needed. So nice!
Thank you so much you spectacular, amazing, wonderful team! I couldn’t have done it without you!
